The Gender Diversity Project grew out of our work to promote the rights of transgender and gender variant people at CCSF. We hope you find these resources and digital stories useful in transforming your classroom, organization or educational institution.

GENDER SPECTRUM
In a simple, straightforward manner, we provide consultation, training and events designed to help families, educators, professionals, and organizations understand and address the concepts of gender identity and expression. Our accessible, practical approach is based on research and experience, enabling our clients to gain a deeper understanding of gender all along the spectrum.

We present an overview of how society currently defines gender and how these restrictive definitions can be detrimental to those who do not fit neatly into these categories. We then help you identify and remove the obstacles so all are free to be our authentic selves.

Safe Schools Coalition
The Safe Schools Coalition is an international public-private partnership in support of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender youth, that is working to help schools – at home and all over the world – become safe places where every family can belong, where every educator can teach, and where every child can learn, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation.

Transgender Student Rights
We seek to promote the rights of transgender students throughout the world by spreading awareness, changing policy, and encouraging grassroots activism on local, regional, and national levels. We see that transgender students do not have what they need to ensure a chance at an equal education, and we are working to change that. We believe that guidelines should be set for school administrations, and that transgender students should play active roles in discussion about their accommodations.
